September 2011 Event: Celtic Festival - September 17, 2011

Celtic Festival

The first ever Gaelic festival was held in Wheaton Maryland, September 17th 2011. Our co-sponsored Gaelic festival drew more than 450 people from the surrounding community and about 18 Wounded Warriors from the new Walter Reed National Military Hospital in Bethesda. This was the first time Project Enduring Pride and the wounded warriors initiated the object of helping the civilian community plan an event. More than 1,000 combined hours went into planning the event and execution. WW designed the festival logo and souvenir tee-shirts that were sold at the festival. Many in attendance had not been exposed to the capabilities of the WW and this truly served as a vehicle to enlighten the community. Had the weather been brighter more of a crowd and WW would have attended this year. Then again…there is always next year.
