Salmon Run

The May JaneFrom the Northwest of the USA live the most, “life giving” fish, the Red and Copper River Salmon. PEP along with a group of wounded warriors from Alaska, arrange for local fisherman and the Air National Guard to get involved in catching, preparing and shipping 60 pounds of fish south to Virginia for a major fish fry. The “May Jane” went out on several days of catching and secured the haul for the fry. SGT Jared Lemon, a WW, made sure the address was correct and had the haul moved to the south. In addition to the fish fry, CSM ED Niko, retired, of Fort Detrick, MD arranged for a group of Pacific Rim dancers to entertain the more than 30 WW attending the fry. For some reason by the end of the fish fry, the Salon was gone and more than 110 pieces of Purdue chicken likewise were consumed. Both Joe Payne and Pat McNeil from American Legion Post 180, Vienna, VA helped set up and cook the food products. It was a good time had by all and the music was great.
